The story of Springfield Public School & College is one of vision, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to educational excellence. For more than four decades, the institution has nurtured generations of learners through a philosophy that values academic achievement, character development, creativity, and responsible citizenship. What began as a humble dream has grown into a respected educational institution dedicated to empowering young minds and preparing them to contribute meaningfully to society.
The vision for Springfield was conceived by its founders, Mr. Azhar Waheed and Mrs. Yawar Azhar, long before the school became a reality. During their years of teaching Chemistry in Nigeria and through countless conversations in their homes in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, they envisioned an institution where every child would receive not only quality education but also the guidance, encouragement, and opportunities needed to realise their full potential. Returning to Pakistan after nearly a decade of international teaching experience, they transformed this vision into reality by establishing Springfield in a modest building on Harley Street.
The early years demanded courage, determination, and relentless hard work. While Mrs. Yawar Azhar provided visionary leadership in academics, Mr. Azhar Waheed guided the institution’s administration and organisational development. Together, supported by a dedicated team of educators, they built a school founded on integrity, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to student success. As parents witnessed the quality of education and care provided, Springfield steadily earned their confidence and became a trusted name in education.
Over the years, Springfield has achieved distinction in academics as well as co-curricular and international activities. Its students have consistently excelled in Matriculation and O-Level examinations, participated in prestigious academic programmes, attended summer courses at the University of Cambridge, represented Pakistan on educational visits to China and Japan, earned international scholarships, and received recognition in science, literature, and the arts. These accomplishments reflect the institution’s enduring pursuit of excellence and its commitment to providing students with opportunities that broaden their horizons.
Beyond awards and academic success, Springfield has always believed that education is about shaping character and enriching lives. Today, Springfield Public School & College proudly carries forward the vision established by its founders. Although Mrs. Yawar Azhar is no longer with us, her educational philosophy and lifelong dedication remain deeply embedded in the institution’s culture. Under the continued leadership of Mr. Azhar Waheed and the collective efforts of its faculty and staff, Springfield remains steadfast in its mission to provide holistic, values-based education.
