Science at Springfield is learned through enquiry as much as explanation. Our laboratories give students opportunities to observe, investigate, experiment and test ideas, turning scientific concepts into experiences that can be examined and understood. Practical work develops precision, patience and respect for evidence, while encouraging students to recognise that scientific knowledge is built through questioning, testing and refinement. As students progress, they are given increasing independence in designing investigations, interpreting results and drawing reasoned conclusions.
